The Fartie Ladies – In a Tizzy With the Dragons

Well, Hello again my Fartie Friends.  Were you wondering what is going on since my last post about the Dragons at The Dragons’ Den?  Did it get your interest up??    Were you intrigued???

If you answered …YES!!   to ANY of these questions, then let me tell you what happened when we met The Dragons that got “The Farties Ladies” all in a tizzy!!!!.

As you know we cannot say anything of the outcome until the show airs…. —BUT—I can tell you what happened right at the end of our time with The Dragons.

Just as we thought we were wrapping up,  one of  “The Dragons asked “The Fartie Ladies” what would their   “BUTT” …name be if I wrote them into the next  “Meet the Farties” series of books that are coming soon.

PANIC!!!!!!!!!

Well after all “The Fartie Ladies” put The Dragons though  with our Fartie Good time,  I knew they must have a great sense humor so here goes…………………

I started with the lady Dragon and she looked a little surprised when I said ….AIRY ARLENE ….. I hope she liked it……not sure maybe too light!!!….

….JIMMY JET FIRE… I know he liked his  “ BUTT”  name because he laughed and his whole body jiggled.

….ROBERT ROLLA OUT….   …….. He smiled………….and shook his head..

…..KEVIN KABOOOOM… What was that loud noise?……Oh yeah, that was Kevin

all right!!!

Then the last one – Brett , oh by the way….  did I tell that Brett had to leave to go to a speaking engagement? . Brett never got to see  ”The Fartie Ladies” or hear “The Fartie Ladies”  “BUTT”,  I hope Brett got his ……FARTIE PARTY BAG…  I gave Brett a Butt name just in case he would like one too… no picking favorites among the little “Butt”   Family of Farties.

Wow that was close. Thank goodness everyone seemed to like their “BUTT” names.   Will they be in a “Meet the Farties” book? —who knows —but—keep checking just in case –you never know when it could happen!!!

Now after our wonderful experience with “The Dragons”,  it was off on more —”GIGS” ….for “The Fartie Ladies”  After being on Dragons’ Den we now refer to ourselves as … The Famous “Meet the Farties”………… would you have ever thought, when you saw us in the  Big Pink Whoopee Costume? …—”BUTT”— we are here to stay!!!

Next we were asked to do a Grand Opening for a new store called ‘’Babyboom” in Hanover. So off we went –but this time there were only 2 Fartie Ladies as the 3rd Fartie lady was on another Fartie gig! We had to balance all the bubbles!!!  LOL   See us at the party!

Hot dogs—balloons,  ribbon cutting,  write up in the newspapers —lots of pictures and lots of fun. We did story telling  of “Meet the Farties” for all the little children and the giggles and laughter is such a sweet sound. It was so great to see my very good friend Tracy and her daughter Krista.  Krista’s 2 children came out and enjoyed the day with us.

Then The Fartie Ladies started appearing on Rogers TV.

And look! We just can’t wait to get in there!!!

The first one on May 19th,  was with Jeff and Jacqueline in Richmond Hill (York Region).  They were a hoot and we had so much fun with them. You can watch the interview right here and you can see it on our Farties Facebook Page too!

Jeff loved “Meet the Farties” book and as you could see, he couldn’t stop playing with the Famous Fartie Sound Machine!

Jacqueline liked the little “BUTTS” and thought they were so cute!!! And she loves how “Meet the Farties” teaches manners, morals or lessons in every book.

Then we took a little break as our youngest Fartie Lady went on a school trip to Ottawa. Then she graduated from Grade 8 with Honours!!! It is all that humor that keeps the brains working like magic!!!

Well there is lots more to tell you about what “Meet the Farties” is doing with The Fartie Ladies —but— for now I will just leave you with THANK YOU!!! for the joy you are giving back to us with your  laughter and appreciation  for what we are doing!! It makes it all worthwhile dressing up in the HOT I mean HOT Big PINK WHOOPEE costumes!!!

The Farties’ Meet The Dragons!!!

Well here we are again. Thank you for your patience. I know I have been a little slow in getting all the news out but… I have had a little bit of hot air going on and I just needed to blow it out of the water. Sometimes it takes a little while for things to settle down!! But not to worry, I am feeling quite well now and all has passed!!!!

The Fartie Ladies with: ”Meet the Farties”  have been very busy. So sit back and relax I am going to tell you all what has been happening with  “Meet the Farties” and  “The Fartie Ladies”…

Do you remember when we went down to Toronto in January 2010 to try out for Shopping Channel and Dragons’ Den?  Well we were interviewed for both, and  the Shopping Channel had so many people that we were not able to see  one of their buyers.   We did get to the Dragons’ Den and spoke with Lindsey and she loved us. . Lindsey (one of the producers from the Dragons’ Den Show) said that they have been in interviews for months, traveling all over Canada. She said she would let us know sometime in April.  Well time goes Fartie flying, then I received an email  saying that we will be hearing from the Dragon Den and to be prepared.

We were all excited and then Lindsey called.  She said we had three weeks to get ready!!!  We go on the show as “The Fartie Ladies” to present my book “Meet the Farties”.  WE WANTED TO BLOW THE DRAGONS away with our presentation.

WOW, were we nervous and excited all at the same time! When we think about it now, there are over 4000 applications ….over 200 people get a call to present to the Dragons….. and just over 160 get to be on the TV show!!!! The Fartie Ladies are pretty darn proud that we even got a call to go on to the show, just think of the odds!

So the work began …we wanted to do the best presentation we could.   We practiced and put together a little  ”Fartie Ladies” rap song. After the song we would go onto our business presentation to tell the Dragons all about the “Meet the Farties”, a family of little Butts and their gassy adventures. We would explain how bodily functions are universal and everyone….. I MEAN EVERYONE!!!  has them ….everyone does it…even our pets do it!!!!.  It does not matter if you are ….Brad Pitt,   Johnny Depp , ….. Angelina or Jennifer, you all do it.  Whether you are wearing JEANS, Ralph Lauren or even Gucci, you still do it. Whether you are Paris Hilton or the girl next door you still have the bodily function that is called GAS.

So it is good to know we are all in the same class with our gas. Now the question is …How do we handle it????    That is where the “Not Me Mama” from “Meet the Farties”  of the  little Butt Family helps us with  putting the “Class into Gas”.

When little.. Bubbles….Tooties….or Farties comes a gurgling and we are NOT at home or CANNOT get to the bathroom—— what can we do??????  We need to be polite like “Not Me Mama taught us in  “Meet the Farties” and when all else fails ………….WE SAY ….EXCUSE ME PLEASE!!!!!

So now that we’ve got that straight and that we all know what it is;  let’s get to why it is so funny and why the little cartoon  “Butt”  characters  from “Meet the Farties” are so adorable and everyone loves them. To get ready for The Dragons, we practiced and practiced as we wanted to ask the Dragons for a certain amount of money to help us promote “Meet the Farties”  to the next level. We needed to build Brand Awareness, to build demand for the “Meet The Farties” Books.  We also needed their expertise in getting a distributor to move “Meet the Farties” all the way across Canada and into the United States.   I knew the Dragons were wondering why they would want to give us money for Our FARTIES —when the Dragons had lots of their own Farties!!!!!!!!! LOL

We have arrived –here we are in front of the building just before we go in to THE DRAGONS’ DEN!!!

While we were at the Dragons’ TV station getting ready to go on, we were interviewed three times!!!!  I hope you get to see some of the video footage before the show airs sometime near the end of September. Lindsey told us that we will hear 10 days before it is aired if we get on the Dragon Den TV show.    Sooo keep your fingers crossed…and definitely noooo hootin …rootin tootin… around!!! .. please .

Now don’t worry…. “The Fartie Ladies”   will let everyone know as soon as we get the rootin tootin hootin news!!!!!! I must say all the “Dragon” staff was really, really, nice to all of us.  Here we are getting instructions to how we do it.

We had a great time meeting everyone else that had come to present before ..The Dragons…even a couple from my home town of Listowel were there to present. How cool is that???? They had even heard of us from all the radio and newspaper interviews we have done .. That made us feel pretty darn good!!…. Brand Awareness is working!!!!!!!!!

It is TIME to go on!!!! The TV crew got us all wired up with microphones and ready with our makeup. Dressing Room picture

We start the walk ……up the stairs…..the nerves in our stomach will not be….. still………Gas…. Do not come a calling now PLEASE!!!!!!!!! The music played …we are told goooooo…..  …. we are now  in front of  “THE DRAGONS”.

Good –The Fartie Ladies Rap song goes over great!!!! …all the Dragons are laughing and having a good time… so far so good. …. Next is the presentation…. ….we give them    “The Fartie Partie Bags” … they loved them….. Each Dragon got a  “Meet the Farties”  book with  six Collectible Trading Cards and The Famous Fartie Sound Machine,  a  gorgeous Fartie T-shirt, Stickers, Magnets and Fartie Tattoos. No one should be without all the Fartie Essentials!!!

We smile …we laugh…. we made it without letting any bodily function get us down!!!   and … we’re feeling pretty good  with  “The Dragons” …WHAT……What..did the Dragons asked us ….OHHHH…..NOOOOO……. The Dragons throw us in a tizzy… ……..……………

Meet The Farties – Look How Far “The Farties” Name Has Blown

WOW!! LOOK what is happening to “Meet the Farties”!

Who would have known?….You did!

I am home from Florida …boo hoo…..”but” I am so proud of what “Meet the Farties”  have accomplished and what all is happening with this little Family of “BUTTS” and their gassy adventures.   Would you like to hear about it?????

From the launching of “Meet the Farties in Sept 1st 2009…

The Farties Ladies have been on over eight Radio stations and there are more to come.

It is so nice when a radio station calls us and asks –”why have you not called us to be on our radio station”? very nice….. very, very nice……..It  makes you feel like A CELEBRITY ….Ohhhh Yaaaa

Then there are the “Newspapers”.  “Meet the Farties” have been written up in over ten newspapers in many different towns!!  And even more towns are waiting to do an article on “Meet the Farties”.

Brand Awareness for “Meet the Farties” is starting to get the grass root following we hoped for and it feels great!!!

“Meet the Farties” was even written up in ViBrant Magazine, and has been on Inside Brant…a local TV show!!  WOW!  Who would have known this little Family of “BUTTS” would be so popular!!

Well we knew……. And now you do too….Everybody can relate to “Meet the Farties”.

Children love “Meet the Farties” and we have started donating “MEET THE FARTIES” books  to the children wards at hospitals.  Nurses love “Meet the Farties” because kids find bodily functions very funny and laughter is so good during the healing process.

We’ve also donated “Meet the Farties” books and Fartie T-Shirts to the “Big Brothers and Sisters” oganizations. We just heard – not only did the kids love “Meet the Farties”, the adults do too.

From being asked to appear by Children Museums, the Bookery Café and Poster Boy Cancer Campaign (to name just a few), we formed a group called “The Farties Ladies” and we do story telling,  little rap songs and lots of other Fartie Stuff.  We get children to sing along with special Fartie songs. We are loving every minute of it and having a lot of fun!!

We still do lots of book signing and here we are at another book signing with “STARS” in our eyes!!!

Then there was the “Crime Stoppers Jail and Bail” —what a great cause! They asked “The Fartie Ladies”….. if we would be part of this wonderful fundraiser and be hauled off to jail!!!

Well did we hesitate? ….no   “BUTT” we just were not sure about this as we didn’t want the “Meet the Fartie’s” reputation ruined because of a little gas!

The Fartie Ladies were just having a lovely cup of coffee down at the “Brown Dog” in Paris———when these three police officers came running in to arrest us!! Imagine……….. I have never been so full of “HOT AIR in my life… The NERVE and in front of all the wonderful people of Paris. The Fartie Ladies did not go easily!!

Thank goodness the wonderful people of Paris bailed “The Fartie Ladies” out and we did not have to spend  toooooooo much time in Jail.

All in all it was for a great cause and when “The Fartie Ladies ” read “Meet the Farties” to the Judge, HE LAUGHED AND LAUGHED AND FINALLY SAID IF HE COULDN’T STOP LAUGHING, HE WOULD HAVE TO LET US GO.

Thank Goodness for “Meet the Farties” and the whole family of little “BUTTS” and their gassy adventures!!

Laughter heals the soul. And in all our life challenges, if we can find just a little bit of joy, however small it is…….. let it shine into your heart….it can help heal your hurt.

The Farties, Still in Florida Having a Gas

Farties!!!– Tooties !!!!Bubbles !!!—Flying everywhere —–even in Florida!!!!!!!

Well the Fartie story continues with the little ‘BUTTS” down in Florida.

After our lovely trip to Key West,  the little “BUTTS” were tired and out of wind………now that is a wonder…….BUTT, not to be down too long, it was now time to go visit with some more family and friends and say ….”Hello” in our special way

Oh yeah……do you think it is time for the little  …..”BUTTS” to go “Hollywood”?

Would you like to see—— “The Butts Blow into Hollywood and leave a “BIG” stinky?!!!!!….. Or Who’s the Biggest Butt in Hollywood?”   or…… “The Farties Ladies go glitzy”?

Let me know ….. What would you like to call the little Fartie Family????

We had a lovely time visiting and off we went again cruising the highway of life and enjoying every minute of it….Oh the life of a “BUTT”.

You will not believe this, but as it turned out there were friends of the little “BUTT”  Family staying down in Florida not far from us, so we all went over for a visit.   We all made plans to go out to dinner the next  night to BUBBA’s, the biggest plate full of RIBS in town!!!!

What a night as we all went to “karaoke” and sang up a storm.

Oh what a night………. There were a lot of “BUTTS” having a good time!

The following night, we all went to see a a fellow playing accordion  —in his bare feet—thank goodness it was warm!!!!

The next day it was another day in Paradise  ….shopping.  The little “BUTTS” need some new duds  for all their up coming appearances…..will tell you all about it in the next blog….”BUTT” for now, back to Paradise……

While out shopping, a nice lady asked me again about my Fartie T-Shirt and wondered what  “The Farties” were all about  Well it just so happened,  I had time to tell her.. She was so excited to hear some of the names that she has used with her grandchildren….. Freddie Fartie…Timmy Tootie …Billy Bubbles….even.. Princess Pop  as she has a new granddaughter that goes ..Pop…Pop…Pop….

She loves ” Not Me Mama” because neither of us admits to anything!!!!  …….LOL

She was happy to learn of  the web site www.thefarties.com where she could order Fartie stuff and I gave her a Fartie magnet to keep on her fridge.

As we were leaving she said……”My grandchildren will think I AM THE COOLEST Grandma when they get all the “Meet the Farties” stuff for their birthdays”..

Once again “Meet the Farties” brightened up someone’s day while working at their job. — Let’s hear it for the “BUTTS”!

Have you heard of the rock group…. “Queen” and their fantastic song ” We are the Champions”?………well The “BUTT” theme song could be …………….”We Are the “Butts” –”Can you hear Us? LOL …

Well the time came too soon to return home again and get back to the “Fartie” business.

Here are some of my little “Fartie” Fans and they are excited about what is coming next …..

There is a lot happening!  I  want to let all the Fartie Fans know that I have started the second little “Meet the Farties” book introducing the one …the only …. Magnificent Mary——-Billy Bubbles’ older sister.

There is  Billy Bubbles” younger brother,  Quiet Quinn —you know the little guy in the corner that quietly lets you know he is there!!!

Billy Bubbles’  Dad, “Walk away Willie” —– he just “drops” and “walks”—His motto is —Just keep walking……’  and his Mommy —The “Mighty Maggie”……Mighty is right!!!        Just repeat… Do not stand behind the mighty “M”.

Another treat are the little “BUTTS’” Grandparents, who will make an appearance in the story too.

Grandpa and Grandma Flatulence –that what we called them –but –their names are Fred Sr. and Flo ….Freddy Fartie is named after his Grandpa. We just love our Grandpa and Grandma Flatulence so much. They always let the little ones stay up later and watch a funny movie and have popcorn.

I have lots of exciting Fartie Stuff coming up and I will be telling you about  it in the next blog..

Here is a hint……..The Fartie Lady ..maybe…. might be ….could be …probably will be….. hauled off to —-”Jail” —- for blowing into town and causing a big ………What do you think?????  What will happen? ….Will the PINK Fartie Lawyer save her and get “The Fartie Lady” out of ……..JAIL?????

The Farties Blow Into Florida

Go West Young “Farties”, That’s Key West

Well the little “BUTTS” are back home from their exciting trip to Florida—– “”BUT”" —–did they have a good time!  Let me tell you about the adventure.

First of all this little “BUTT”  went to the airport and was just minding her own “BUT business” when  a lovely lady came over and asked what the “Farties” was about when she saw my “Fartie” T-shirt and “Fartie” hat.

Oh –But- did I have fun explaining the little “BUTT” Family and all their gassy adventures.  She laughed and giggled and just loved the “Not Me Mama” character  and said —”of course we don’t” ! —- As we chatted, this lovely lady wanted to know how she could get a “Meet the Farties” –book and a T-shirt –for her—HUSBAND!!!—-  LOL

I gave her a Fartie card and a fridge magnet ( I always carry them with me)  and told her she could purchase these and many other items on our website www.thefarties.com.

She asked me how she could stay in touch with “The Farties”,  so I told her to become a “FAN” of the Farties” on Facebook and then she will get all “The Farties” news !

Then I chatted with another lady who asked me what my seat number was.  I looked and said “I’m not sure…my boarding pass has 2 stars and no seat number on it”.  So away I trotted up to the attendant and asked if he could help me with my seat number.   Well he certainly did!!! All the way up to “First Class”!  That’s right –the Fartie Lady did—“Gas with Class” all the way to Florida —– This trip so far was proving to be a Fluffy Fabulous experience   ….the Fartie Lady was very happy!!!.

Oh yes, I was waited on…fed and served drinks (too many)……. sooooooooooo….I had a rip roaring good time telling them all about my little family of “BUTTS” and their gassy adventures.  Everybody laughed, even the flight attendant!!

Well I rolled into Florida around 10:00 pm and my nephew Brad and his lovely wife Caroline were waiting for me.  Thank goodness, as I was feeling a little light –all my pent up gassy excitement was wearing off!–LOL

After a wonderful, restful, sleep….  away we went to Key West.  The drive was as lovely as Key West itself especially since we had our two favorite pets along with us to keep us  company—“Rocky and Rosie” –

Well here we are at our cottage on the ocean, tough I know.  The “BUTTS” had a tough time adjusting—LOL—all that ocean air and the wind to take your Fluffy Fabulous worries away!!! Life is good.  The little “BUTTS” were very excited to see the most  southern point in United States —90 miles from Cuba—do you think the little “BUTTS” could be heard that far??????

After that it was off to dinner and –guess what we had? …Alligator snacks!  Oh yeah, that will make your little “BUTTS” say …Hello……

While we were  watching the fantastic sunset,  we heard a group of young girls laughing their heads off and giggling.  Finally they wandered over and said …”we just need to know what are ’The Farties’”?????

Well I was in my glory and told them all about the little “BUTT” Family and their gassy adventures….they giggled and laughed and asked how to find out more.  They loved the idea of becoming a  “FAN” of the Farties on “FACEBOOK”…

They could not stop laughing and said “We’ve got to get this for our Dad …this is soooooooooooo him”!!!!!   They were so excited to know that they can go on online and order a  “Meet the Farties”  book and T-Shirt for their Dad for Father’s Day!!!!!

I gave them “The Farties” trading cards that have our web site address on them www.thefarties.com.  I also mentioned that they should keep reading about “The Farties” on Facebook,   Twitter and the Blog as soon there will be something exciting happening!….. something to do with winning  —-Fantastic Farties Prizes!!

I love to see what laughter can do for everyone and “Meet the Farties and the little “BUTT” Family does just that .   It is a wonderful feeling to be able to create something so laughable….. so lovable….. so adorable   and …..something for all ages …….with a morale to the story for us all!  Bodily functions will  always be with us –let’s handle them with care.  Let’s keep the “Class” in “Gas” and….use our manners whenever……wherever….and with whomever!!!!

Now there is a lot more to this story —”BUT” I will tell more in the next blog……

In the meantime, keep believing in the wonderful world of laughter….. no matter what it takes ….Help keep the Fartie Fun alive and let’s all have a “Rootin” Hootin” Tootin” good time !!!!

Meet the Farties – ♬Girls Just Wanna Have Fun…♪

Well if you remember from my last post, I did tell you I would let you in on a few secrets of when my girls were little  and how they handled the …..Tooties, Bubbles and little Farties …Yes I said— LITTLE Farties …’cause we’re …girls!!!!!!!!!!!

Aren’t they adorable!!! Jenni sure played the part of  Princess Pop …really well!  She just giggled and tooted ….Rhonda-Lee would just roll her eyes!.

As we all know by now,  everyone, I mean……everyone, has ‘bodily functions’ or  whatever you call the little noises in your life. It is the way we handle it that makes the difference.

As Rhonda-Lee is the eldest, she always thought she  knew best when dealing with the Baby and all that Babies do……  “But”  when there was something that was not as much fun to deal with, she would give a yell  …MOM …Baby Jenni needs you.

Well as the girls grew and developed their own unique personality, it became clear that girls have just as much fun as boys with their bodily functions.

Here is a picture of my girls and I all dressed up and back from a birthday party.  I was explaining to them about manners.—- the reasons why it was important  —There had been someone, at the party (not mentioning any names), that did not leave the room and it wasn’t pretty…

As I was telling them what to do if that happens to them when they are out, I saw the little smiles coming  and I knew that  ‘Mighty Maggie’ and  ‘Sneaky Stella’ were already developing very nicely in their little minds…..….thank you very much…

As a parent you do your best to teach your children all about manners….little did I know how this would  help me much later in life.  Only after the girls were all grown up and had children of their own, would this idea come to me, like when  my little granddaughter would say to me….. …..Watch  out Grandma ..Here comes Magnificent Mary…. and a little toot would be heard.  ……

Bodily functions are a way of life and children never, never get tried of having fun with it.

From all the childhood adventures, there is always something that I can draw from to create the journey of the little  “BUTT” family and their gassy adventures. Children love to hear what the little BUTTS” are going to do next..

As laughter and music just seem to go with any bodily function that is happening,  we have certain songs that just bring back memories …I think  Brooks and Dunn would love this version of their song done this way…..”Butt– Scoot and Tootie”…..it just give you a really good country feeling!

Then we would  Rock and Roll and sing our heart out to the song “”Farties Flying Free… you know what I mean”"”"…. ….Oh yeah, we could really rock it out and if we needed to   (a little tootie coming on) ….we would just move across the room and just keep on dancing!!

We all loved “Meatloaf” …but I don’t know if I can ever think of “Bat out of Hell” the same way again.  The song came on …we started to dance and all of a sudden the loudest …..  “TOOT”…. came screaming out and we all looked at each other and fell down laughing as Meatloaf kept on singing!!!

To this day, no one has admitted to doing it.  We all blame each other.  Thank you Meatloaf, for all the great fun we had hootin– rootin and …tootin to your music!!

Now that my children are grown and have families of their own, we think  back and remember the good times of just laughing and having fun with all our bodily functions —burp’s were not excluded from our family fun either but that another story.

With all the grandchildren involved with what is going on with “Meet the Farties”, the laughter continues. Whether everyone understand our humor or not that is OK, as we enjoy the unique way we have with dealing with things that make…. noise ….

As long as we always teach manners that  goes with the body functions…what are you gonna do …if you have to ****——Just say —-Excuse me please…

Here we are all grown up.  Thank you girls for all your inspiration and fun that we have had getting this new venture off the ground!!!

The Farties Hit Goderich and Listowel Ontario

Storytelling is Such a Gas!!

Wow!!! what an amazing week —-So much is happening and I would like to tell you all about my exciting time with “Meet the Farties.”  On one of our many road trips we made a stop in Goderich. We dropped off “Meet the Farties” book and the Farties business card for Kevin MacDonald at 104.9  The Beach in Goderich.

I also talked to Dominique at the Signal Star newspaper and they want to do an interview with me and “Meet the Farties”.  I am excited about getting the word out in Goderich where I lived, owned and operated my business and still have many friends.

Kevin had been away on holidays for a week –lucky him!!…..so I waited until he returned to call him. He started laughing and said that would be a hoot to have us on as The Fartie Ladies” talking about “Meet the Farties”, so up we got very early in the morning and away we went to Goderich to be on 104.9 The Beach.   It is about a 2 hour drive …but… we wanted to be there in person as it is so much more fun chatting with people.

When we got there, Kevin couldn’t stop laughing and the other gentleman that works there was having so much fun with the “Famous Fartie Sound Machine!!!

The interview went really well and a lot of people heard us and ran out to buy our “Meet the Farties” book. I got a call right after the interview from FINCHER’s in Goderich (where the book is selling off the shelf),  that they needed 20 more books (YES!!!) and could I signed 10 of them.  YES, I could!!!  I was so happy!!! It was well worth the 2 hour drive early in the morning.

Kevin asked us to tell everybody about our story-telling adventure that took place at the Bookery Cafe in Listowel this past Saturday, March 13th at 3:00.  We had a fantastic time getting all dressed up.  Don’t we look cute???

The other Fartie lady, my daughter … Rhonda-Lee, was feeling a little nervous as this was her first time doing the story telling with me…..I think the nervous part was that I sometimes do things differently than I rehearse them with her… sometimes I have brain farties going on…….LOL

“”BUT”" Rhonda-Lee did wonderfully well. Look how adorable she is in her Bright Pink Whoopee Costume.  Mrs. Whoopee would be soooooooo proud!!!

Well we hooted and rooted and tooted our way into the hearts of all the children …even the parents.

They laughed and laughed and it was so cute to see the little children helping us out by pushing the Famous Fartie Sound machine throughout the story telling.

We had little “Fartie Rap”  songs to get the energy going …but…I must say it did not need much as the giggles and the smiles just kept on coming for the whole time.

We had a great time and Debb from the Bookery Café was so impressed that we can go back to do it again in the future.

There is nothing better than happy, giggling little children to make your heart feel good!!!!  Laughter is sooooooo good for the soul!!!!!!!!!!!!

‘Meet the Farties” books  were such a big hit with the kids and grown ups too. The Bookery Café  quickly sold out …but.. never fear, no one went without “Meet the Farties’ books.  I had my secret stash of more books.

After our big story telling debut in Listowel, we all went to my niece’s and had some snacks.. …..we had such a good time  looking at all the pictures.

The next day it was back to Listowel  to see my little grandson play in the hockey tournament.  It was great to see some of the same parents and their children at the arena that were at the story telling.

I looked over and saw one little girl wearing her bright orange Fartie t-shirt and reading her “Meet the Farties” Book..

Wherever we go and whatever we do, if “Meet the Farties” gives the children laughter and fun, then the little “BUTTS” have done us proud.

Also, my grandson was excellent playing hockey…..Maybe the little “BUTTS” will play hockey too ………who knows what the little “BUTTS” will be doing in the future!!!l

All in all it was a great week so until next time, keep to the Fartie Power and let the wind set you free.

The Farties… How My Life Began

Ok -Ok you have asked me enough times!!  I will do it!!!

I am going to tell you all about my research and how I decided that “Meet the Farties” with the “famous Fartie Sound machine would work!

Are you ready? it will take me a few blogs “”BUT”" It will be worth it!!!!

Brothers can be your best material. I grew up with -2- brothers. Their greatest  joy was running up to me and standing as close as possible and letting their bodily functions talk to me.  Yuck!!!  They made me sick and even madder when they would  laugh their heads off as I gagged!!  I decided that if I couldn’t win, I would  join them or better, beat them at their own game!!!  So began my journey of gassy experiences and the fun we had doing it.

Whoopee cushions were not safe from me. I hid them under everything and one time my Dad sat on one and I had some fast talking to do so I would not get into trouble.  I just blamed my brothers.—LOL

What?? What?? Not Me!!!

When I was older and began dating, I would get all dressed up looking pretty and of course I wouldn’t play any of these pranks  ”BUT”" the same could not be said of my brothers!!!–LOL.   Usually one of my brothers would say something totally stupid about gas in front of my date… How embarrassing! ”but” that did not seem to bother them at all. I would have very easily loved being an only child at that point, but that is what brothers do –make your life miserable!!!

I remember one time we were all at a dance.  I was with my boyfriend at the time, someone I adored (don’t get me started on that guy – he’s long gone “but” at the time, I thought I was in love) and I was thinking how hot I looked.  We were all dancing up a storm and all of a sudden, I’m not seeing my brother or his girlfriend—”BUT”" it was not long before I smelled something that was just not right!”  The worst part of it was that my boyfriend looked at me as if –as if –I had something to do with it.   Can you imagine????

This is how I came up with one of my little “Butt” characters ——”WALK AWAY WILLIE”     because guys just drop and walk!!!! LOL — so something good came out of one of my most embarrassing moments in my life.

Another time my boyfriend… (a different guy) …was picking me up and I was running late soooooooooo…I ate really! really! fast—– …Not a good thing to do!  I was all dressed up at the wedding reception of my boyfriend’s sister and dancing up a storm again (I love to dance)  when I felt something coming—Oh nooooooooooooooo. I ran to the bathroom and almost made it. As I flew through the door,  I was yelling —-Get out of the way!!!!!!!!!! Whew all…. “Hel..lo” ….. let loose!!!.  I know they heard me.  Could I stay in the bathroom until I died of embarrassment?-..Hel..lo no…. my boy friend was asking everyone to go in and see if I was OK — do you think I am OK???? Noooo.

If  I had only known that these embarassing moments would serve me well later in life in the creation of  “Meet the Farties”, I could have lived with that.  As it was, I put a smile on my face and walked right back out and said “excuse me, I felt a little sick –all that smoke –I am allergic to it”..( those were the days when everyone smoked indoors). Wow I did some —-fast thinking  on that one.  They pretended to believe me (except the little witch) that wanted my boyfriend!!- she just rolled her eyes and rubbed her nose!!!–”BUT” that is another story LOL.

We eventually grew older—(I did not say we grew up– just older!!) and we all moved away from home,  got married and started having children of our own.  Now there is another story to be told soon about my wonderful Hootin—Rootin—Tootin–  normal home!!! Yes that’s right …I said…Normal…..  Well, I like to think it was and is……..

I’ll give you a hint —I had two girls “but” as you all know, that does not mean that they did not have little “TOOTIES”  going on in our household.  We just did it with music……Do you think that is how “The Farties” Theme song started?????   I will tell you all about that in my next blog.

Meet The Farties On Tour

Sandy Van Cromvoirt – ‘The Fartie Lady’… On the Move

Hello everyone —it’s me—The Fartie Lady with lots of news that has been happening in the wonderful little “BUTT” Family.

As you know, I just finished writing all about how the …six  little “BUTT” characters in the “Meet the Farties” first book came to be.  In ‘BUTTween’, we have been very busy doing lots of great things with the little “BUTT” Family.

The “FARTIE LADY”….. in full costume…entertained the children at the Waterloo Regional Children’s Museum doing a story telling of “Meet the Farties”.

A good time was happening as the famous Fartie machine and the little “BUTTS’” gassy adventures become real for the children.  Lots of children got their picture taken with The Fartie Lady and she loved it!

Then we got a call from ViBrant  …a magazine covering Brantford and the surrounding areas.  They wanted to do a story on the author…..me….and the  “Meet the Farties” book.  How cool is that? You can read all about it by clicking here.  Our story appeared right after the Great One—-Wayne Gretzky…”HELLO”  what do you think of the little Butts now?

From there, The little “BUTT” Family is featured in the Listowel Banner.

Now that is my home town and this was a big step for us to go back ‘BUTT’ what a welcome we got!  We are doing a story telling and other little surprises at the “Bookery Café”  on March 13th at 3:00PM……. in full costume –Wow!!! Do you think Listowel is ready for us??? Are we ready for them????  If you are in the area, come on out and meet us!

More super news.. we were on CKNX Radio yesterday morning ( Feb 22) with Brian Allen.  What a fun experience that was! Brian loves “Meet the Farties” and was sooo encouraging as he sees  the little Butts going on to become TV stars.

So we have been busy little Butts running around all over the country!

We even got a story done on us that goes out to the artists!!! It is always so interesting connecting with other artists and chatting with them.  It feels like home talking with your artist friends as we think a lot alike.

NOW I am working on the second book of “Meet the Farties” and this time, it is about Billy Bubbles’ family.

Well… Billy Bubbles’ MOMMY is the….. Mighty Maggie — Mighty she is, if you know what I mean!! LOL

Daddy is ….Walk away Willie……cause he just says “Hello” and then walks away.

I AM SURE YOU KNOW SOMEONE LIKE THAT.

Little Butt…. Quiet Quinn …. You just never know ’cause he is soooooo quiet.

Then the one and only …. “Magnificent Mary” the little BUTT that started it all!  She is Billy Bubbles older sister and will be featured in the upcoming second book of “Meet the Farties”.  Wait until you see what Magnificent Mary has been up to…… I am working on it now and will let you know sooooooooon.

All and all, we are just having a hootin, rootin, tootin good time! and I would like to leave you with this little sweet poem.

Farties, Farties… what can you do?

Everybody’s got them… Everybody …Even you!!!!!

I got so many farties’  tooties’,  and bubbles

If I cannot hold, then wow am I in trouble.

So if you cannot hold it or squeeze real tight

Then it is best to just say …goodnight

Last ‘Butt’ Not Least, Meet The Farties – Freddy Fartie

“Freddy Fartie……..The Friendly Fartie!!!!

Hello again, this is Sandy Van Cromvoirt (The Fartie Lady).  Do you remember who I am writing about this time? Yes, you are right it is Freddy Fartie the little “butt” that was my first little  ”character” in my children’s’ book “Meet The Farties”.  Little Freddy Fartie was the first cartoon drawing that my illustrator, Steve drew for me.

I still remember the day I went to see Steve and ask him to do the drawings—”He said to me “YOU WANT ME TO DRAW WHAT????LOL

“Meet the Farties has six characters. These characters are “Mr. Bart Fart — Not Me Mama—Timmy Tootie—Billy Bubbles—Princess Pop”.  Now it is Freddy Fartie’s  turn!!!!

How “Freddy Fartie ” …came about in the book….

When I started on this adventure of my little  “BUTT” family Freddy Fartie was the first picture that we did.

As the drawings kept going back and forth of Freddy Fartie, he started to be the little ” Butt” with the Big smile!

Freddy Fartie is so cute and adorable and has a happy little smile that lights up…..the room.

Freddy Fartie loves to sing and dance.  Here is one of his little songs that he sings all the time…

Hi I’m Freddy Fartie and I like to say “Hello” … I’m the Friendly Fartie… everywhere I go!

Would you like to play with me .. We can be best BUT-TIES

We will have so much fun….when we Say “Hello” to everyone!

We all have a little Freddy Fartie in our family somewhere or maybe you all know someone that just loves to say “Hello” all the time.  Is it your brother, cousin or is it you????????????

Sometimes you can catch Freddy Fartie at Cartridge World.  He loves to help out.

Again, I did not have to look too far as my grandson (another one)  was a Freddy Fartie before I created the little “BUTT”.  Now it is official. My little grandson thinks he can say “Hello” to everyone he meet.—-”BUT”….. His—Not Me Mama soon straightens that up!!!

Little Freddy Fartie loves to wear his favorite hat….his trusty little red base-but hat … and play with his favorite toy….Fartie ball!

Freddy Fartie and his cousins run from room to room trying to hit the other little “BUTT” with the Fartie ball.

They giggle.. they laugh.. and then they __TOOT___ and then the game is over!!!

Every Friday night it is movie night with the Fartie Family.  Sometimes they invite their Grandpa Fred and Grandma Florence Flatulence over for movies too.  Freddy Fartie is named after his Grandpa … If Little Freddy Fartie says “Hello” all the time, why was he named after his Grandpa Flatulence???….Just wonderin…

Everybody is excited when Grandpa and Grandma Flatulence come over because they always bring a really big pot of …”BEANS”"…Yum yum …what a night!!!

The movie is   ”Fartie Fall Out” ……….and it is the perfect movie with “BEANS”…..   After we eat all the BEANS—- watch out……with all the Fartie Bean Power, it is fartie fall out all over!!!!LOL

My Philosophy to each character and …Freddy Fartie

Freddy Fartie is a mover, a shaker and loves to say “Hello”.  He is so friendly that when he smiles you forget that little Freddy Fartie did anything.

Since Freddy Fartie was the very first little “BUTT” in this family, he needed to be so huggable and loveable that everyone wants to be a Freddy Fartie! Don’t you just love his smile?

Now that you know all the little “BUTT” characters in “Meet the Farties” which one is your favorite? …or do you love them all?  Maybe you would like all of them to be part of your family too.  All the little “BUTTS” love to hear you giggle… laugh and just have fun reading all about them and their gassy adventures.
